V&A Hoarding Design

V&A HOARDING // RGB DESIGN

Each layer would incorporate the common answers that came out of asking people what they thought when they heard the name V&A, the first layer was ICONIC so I picked building and object found in the city the V&A is situated in – London. The next layer is a Textile pattern because the V&A are famous for their pottery and fashion so I wanted to bring a little of this into my design. The last layer is the underground tube map, this was added because of the underground feel that was being brought to Amanda’s designs and so you can get to the V&A from the tube. After deciding that I wanted to do the RGB design it was then how it was placed in the hording. The idea behind picking the RGB design was that the hoarding was going to be up for three years and I wanted the people to pass to see something different each time. This is also why I decided that the hoarding would need to have lights shinning up on the RGB design on a loop of 30 minutes, so that each day something different would be shown.

The colour palate that I picked had to fit in with how the RGB design works so this was easier for me because I knew it had to be cyan, magenta and yellow. This colour palate was also applied to the logo shown throughout the design. Below the logo I placed taglines ICONIC, BRITISH, UNDERGROUND and EXPERIENCE IT, the words under the logo was to represent what the V&A was all about and the experience it part was to tie in with the V&A voice.
