Megasaki Money
This project is features a currency design for the fictitious island nation of Megasaki. I created a history of the island that involved the five pirates that originally inhabited the island long ago. The front of each bill features the face of a pirate and the back tells more of their stories.
Security Features
One of the most important things to consider when designing a currency is its ability to be counterfeited. These bills contain multiple features that make them hard to copy.
A unique serial number on each bill allows for traceability. The cascading number values over the Megasaki flag combined with wavy lines make a unique pattern.
The semi-transparent security strip on each bill is made up of numbers and symbols.
The image on the front of each bill is created using a pattern of interlaced lines that would be difficult for a counterfeiter to mimic.
The bottom of the back of each bill contains a unique pattern made up of cascading numbers, triangles, and wavy lines.
