The Good Lobby - Regulating lobbying activities

Regulation and transparency on lobbying activities

The Good Lobby, an european civic start-up giving voice to underrepresented public interests, and Riparte il Futuro, an italian non-profit organisation fighting government corruption, asked us at Antimatter to create a short video calling for more regulation on lobbying activities in Italy.

The lack of transparency on this sector seriously threatens the quality of our laws and favours corruption and conflicts of interest. Lobbying activities should be out in the sun and allow for groups of citizens often excluded of exercising their own influence over decisive processes. Sign now to improve our democracy!

With a bold storyboard and a geometric visual approach, we created an ironic animation that focuses on the message and doesn't waste time fooling around. The video asks Italian citizens if they miss the old authoritarian forms of government, since there is little to no transparency at all in lobbying activities in the country. This strong approach is meant to strike the viewers and hopefully get them to think about the current government system and what they can do to improve it.

I held the creative direction over this video, creating the styleframes and all of the visual elements that followed, as well as the animation. I tend to have a very minimalist approach to communication, so with this project I really focused on the message and created visuals that would complement what the public is listening to, making for an easier understanding of an otherwise complex situation.

I hope you like it!

Thank you for watching!
