The design of the Tubular Chandelier was done for my product design studio course, and it was centred around lighting design for a chosen space. In my case I've decided to produce a design for the Bauhaus Archiv, with my design intent ensuring that the light is contextually fitting within its location and space. As such I took inspiration from the works produced by the Bauhaus metal workshop and combined the principles of functionalism, ornate design and the use of atypical material combinations (steel tubes and glass bulbs) that the Bauhaus School conveyed.
