APPD 2260 - Contract Design Midterm: CEO Office Update Project
My client is the CEO of her mid-sized company. She has a 16' X 20' office with 2 windows.

Her furniture needs include: formal meetings with 2 people, a space to work on her laptop and detachable additional monitor that is 27" that has a webcam.  There is a large phone for conferencing.  She has manuals that she needs quick access to in addition to books for back up resource, the manuals and books require about 12 linear feet and the manuals require 2'-6" lineal feet.  There are no file storage needs but she would like a coat closet for jackets and gym bag.

A conferencing space is necessary to meet with up to 8 people.

The company's colors are muted orange, celery green, and navy blue.  The brand symbol is the head of a lion.

This is the shell with my initial bubble diagram showing notes and possible furniture placement:
This is the SketchUp drawing of my floorplan with furniture to show spacing and traffic flow:
Perspectives of the possible furniture placement along with paint colors, lighting, accents, etc.:
Here we used the company's "celery" green color as an accent color to prevent the navy blue from making the space feel tight and confined. The conference area is foremost from the entrance as it allows the most accessible flow for foot traffic and also allows those involved to maintain focus by not being at the windows. The conference chairs shown are Eames style leather executive chairs in a the company's muted orange color. The light fixture above will be a Mid-Century style chandelier.
This perspective shows the client's desk with Eames style leather desk chair with high back for better support as well as to subtly show the strength of both my client and her company. A Mid-Century style L-shaped desk with storage provides immediate access to files or sensitive paperwork that may need to be secured. Floating shelves provide the needed accessibility for manuals and resources while maintaining the open concept of the office as opposed to a bookcase. A tall cabinet with lock for personal belongings along with the desk set against the corner creates a definition of space, this is my client's personal work space versus the conference area where she will meet with clients and colleagues. The company's navy blue color in an eggshell sheen creates a calming environment without feeling dark and suffocating.
A beautiful piece of abstract artwork that entails my client's business and a Frank Lloyd Wright floor lamp from Taliesin West in the corner help to give the space some color and light while also acknowledging the evolution of architecture and design. The rich dark wood floor gives the space a feeling of importance and sophistication.
