Materials and Making
As part of the material and making course we were asked to create an installation out of waste newspaper. The objective of this course was to understand properties of the material and use them to create a spatial installation.
Multiple explorations were done to find out the form possibilities of paper as as material. Some of these were combined to create the final installation.
Visualizing elements of the installation in space.
The idea of the installation was to show deforestation through the usage of newspaper. The newspaper sheets when rolled and cut look similar to section of the tree trunk. This effect was exaggerated through multiple layers of tree trunks at different heights.
The space was turned into a deforested land.
