Dark comedy Brilliance is a Netherlands, Poland, United Kingdom coproduction short film shot in Krakow, Poland. I wrote the original screenplay and was lead producer.

Our cast features Richard Cordery (About Time, Les Misérables, Roald Dahl’s Esio Trot), Kate Fahy (Defiance, The Living and the Dead, Archipelago), Patrick O’Kane (Game of Thrones, Prometheus, The Borgias), Lyne Renee (Split, Strike Back, Deep State), Malwina Buss and Michal Wojciula.

Brilliance has screened at international film festivals in Spain, Australia, Mexico, the UK and USA, screened internationally on ShortsTV and is one of Eye International’s ‘Selected Dutch Shorts 2015’.

Synopsis:

During twelve minutes of real time around a city square, six lives collide in a flash of sunshine, bullets and jewels that changes all of them, forever.

Master jeweller William rushes to finish a creation for his client Felice; but neither will admit they’re in love. Small-time thief Josh quarrels with his gunman partner Bart while preparing to rob William in his atelier. Janet wants to forget her girlfriend lover, but Marlene’s arrival in the square changes everything...
