Save the BEES, save the PLANET.

Save the BEES, Save the PLANET.
Bees are irreplaceable creatures in the nature. Without them, there would be no food which we take for granted. Fruit, vegetables, coffee, cotton or plants for feeding livestock (thanks to them we have milk and meat) would eventually disappear. Extinction of bees would have huge consequences for humanity.
The solitary bees are the richest group of the bees. Although they are better pollinators than honey bees, they often escape the attention of beekeepers and ordinary people. They don’t live in swarms, don’t give honey, but they are characterised by their hard work and mercy. They can nest almost anywhere, only need cavities at least 10 cm deep. Because they cannot communicate with each other, like honey bees, they remain faithful to their territory. The problem is that nowadays, the bee colony is slowly dying out, which means huge consequences for humanity because they are irreplaceable. Rarely, we can help as easily as in this case. All we have to do is allow solitary bees to live with us. That’s all, because these bees do not need any help or care and become your perfect neighbour. If we provide them place to live, reproduce (put eggs) and plants for pollination, they provide us a rich harvest. Perfect collaboration when you are helping bees and yourself.

The aim was to create a bee house of unobtrusive character that could be easily placed in as many places as possible in public, but also private areas. So that the bee population can multiply and then increase. Thanks to an easy solution, sticking into the ground, we can place it almost anywhere - between flowers, trees, shrubs, bushes, into the flowerpots, flower boxes, on balconies, gardens, parks, etc. The house can be made of a variety of materials. Plastic, concrete, wood or waste material which could be the best solution when the solitary bees are not picky in choosing nest material. We can transform and reduce waste, thereby helping the planet and bees at the same time.
The project “Save the BEES, Save the PLANET” should help people to realise how wild bees are essential to human life and how easily they can help the planet just by putting a few bee houses in their garden. Towns could be also involved in this project and place bee houses around the urban environment. After all, we can not lose anything, only gain.
