moonstruck /ˈmuːnstrʌk/
: mentally unbalanced.
For my research project, I studied Anxiety Disorders in Bahrain and discovered that its prevalence rate was quite high. I then decided to create an awareness campaign educating our community on accepting mental disorders.

This project was showcased at Bahrain Polytechnic’s Behance Design Exhibition and it was enthralling to see the audience’s reactions.

As part of the campaign, I built an installation box which played a first-person video showing the symptoms of having anxiety disorders. I also designed a series of posters to be exhibited prior watching the video.

For the posters, I captured melodramatic photographs of how people with anxiety disorders feel, inserting handwritten text to highlight their distress. These elements helped me in grabbing the audience’s attention to the most essential part, i.e. the fact “1 in 5 individuals develop Anxiety Disorders in Bahrain”.
This sign was hung on the installation’s door to intrigue the audience. The heart signifies the most common and direct symptom experienced by an anxious person, i.e. a racing heart.
The installation box was designed to isolate the audience from the public for better experience. The whole point of it was to make the audience feel what an anxious person experiences. This box metaphorically portrays the soul of people with anxiety disorders, so the person entering it is viewing things from their perspective.
The video’s aim was to help the audience understand the disorder by having a realistic storyline. The call-to-action in the ending helps people learn about it and seek treatment if needed.
