Marie Antoinette
Role: Costume Designer
This costume was created for Faux Pas le Fae, a drag burlesque performer and professional dancer. For this costume, Faux Pas needed a traditional period-style costume with a Marie Antoinette theme. Throughout the routine, different components and layers would be removed, so it had to be both beautiful and functional.
The routine also gets quite bloody.... hence the splatters from many nights of performing in it!
For the costume, materials incude:
Bodice - satin, brocade, lace
Skirt - layered panels of satin and draped brocade with stiff tricot underlayers to create the paniers
Corset/Waist Cincher - satin, gold gromments, metallic gold lacing
Short Pantaloons - satin, lace
