Shoe cobblers in Singapore are diminishing in numbers. The craft of traditional shoe cobbling will soon be forgotten. Though the culture cannot be fully encapsulated in the time capsule, this toolkit contains some of the basic and essential tools used by the cobblers.
Tools of trade are one of the best ways to understand a craft and through understanding, awareness is created. When people are aware, they remember, and that in turn, inspires preservation.
The publication consist about the history of shoe cobbling and experiences from the shoe cobblers themselves. In order to preserve their trade, step by step of repairing heels and leather shoes were included as well.
