Art Dump #3 - Carmen Sandiego?

Fan Artworks that I did in honour of the new Netflix series: Where in the Carmen Sandiego!
NOTE: The Carmen Team and I, before Feb. 5th, weren't allowed to share our fan artworks online, or anywhere really. We had to wait until the higher ups said something. It was a sad period but at least we've gotten what we wanted! :D
I took part in this production for about 1.5 years (contracted ended as of November 2018) as a Posing Layout artist at DHX Media! Basically, the posing team grabs the character builds (in Animate CC, in this case) and pose them out as per the rough animation, SPU (special key drawings, if there's any) and storyboards. This also applies to the expressions!

It was SUCH a good experience and I couldn't have asked something better, considering that I just got out of VanArts when I first got contacted! That was around September 2017, just a bit before graduation, then 2-3 days after that I got in. :D
I did this one at home while I was still working at the studio because I was super happy that I got into a big production right off the bat, it wAS GREAT.

Software used: Clip Studio Paint EX

^^ Note: This one isn't paid or sponsored, by the way. I thought the Netflix logo would look cool in the corner there lol
Carmen (on the left) was JUST made right before the release of the series in Netflix and before the Carmen team and I met up to celebrate our efforts! Zack and Ivy (on the right, respectively) was drawn probably around my lunch break during production, and I made sure to show my supervisors because at that time, I couldn't share anything just yet haha

Softwares used:
For Carmen - Procreate via the iPad Pro
For Zack and Ivy - Photoshop on a Cintiq (DHX)
This is Zack from the 5th episode! Probably one of the many favorites on which me and my team worked on! The posing layout team is a huge one, so to increase efficiency, we were all sorted into smaller ones and were assigned to different episodes, so that we can stay on track with the deadlines.

Of what I'm really proud of, in Season 1 anyways, is that I was granted creative freedom to do some of Zack's expressions. The disgusted ones, in particular, as well as his bluffs to lie his arse off. At that time the SPUs were lacking, and rough animations weren't there, so I had to improvise and basically use a face mirror to accommodate on what was on the storyboards. It was a weird and fun experience, and it turned out great in the end!
