A brand for the citizens of tomorrow
Urbane Citizen Architecture

Background

Urbane Citizen is an architectural firm and property development group based in Cape Town.  Launched by architect Klaus Neumann in 2016, their portfolio covers both residential, hospitality and commercial buildings. Urbane Citizen’s focus is not only producing award-winning architecture but also selecting the right trendy, affluent and up and coming areas to develop in.

Challenge

The brief was to create an identity that is bold, confident, elegant, and refined in a manner as the name ‘Urbane’ suggests. The identity needed to combine the practices contemporary design aesthetics and their functional approach.

Outcome

K&i developed a logo and identity that is fitting with the practice's philosophy of modern architecture mixed with future-forward functionality and technology. The logo was created as a word mark using a modern sans serif font with a geometric touch.

Property brochures are an integral part of Urbane Citizen’s marketing communications. We developed a set of brochures with a marketing strategy of selling both the lifestyle of the area as well as the finished product. We used clean and minimal design accompanied with impactful photography of both the architecture and the locations. The photography brief was to exemplify the activities, eateries and local ‘things to do’ within the surrounding area. This included aerial drone photography for 3D renderings of Urbane Citizen’s developments to be inserted. We created a brand that delivers both bold and suave characteristics complimenting the architectural firm's style and areas they choose to develop in.
