The Lakmé Fashion Week Grand Finale in 2012 was special as it was held offsite in the sprawling gardens of the Grand Hyatt in Mumbai. Celebrated fashion designer Rohit Bal showcased his collection in the finale.
We used the opportunity to design a huge ramp and backdrop in off white canvas and handmade paper in pale amber hues to complement the colours in the collection. A dramatic start to the show was choreographed as cut-out cones made of sunboard moved up in succession to reveal models standing beneath them one by one. Colour was introduced in the environment through lighting only.

An exhibition of Lakmé products was also designed in the lobby area of the hotel. A spiral clock made of steel pipe sections enveloped by carefully graded paint bottles was the primary backdrop for the interior space. The interior was done in bold colours and sharp, reflective finishes to complement the image of the brand.
