Bat Fest is an event held annually located atop the Congress Avenue Bridge in Austin Texas. The event brings out unique local and international crowds curious about creatures housed underneath the bridge. At dusk, over a million Mexican free-tailed bats emerge from the under the bridge for visitors to see. There is also live music and various festivities for all ages. Bat Fest is a part of Austin’s “Keep Austin Weird” initiative, which is an ongoing effort to keep the town creative and diverse. This poster conceptually ties in the elements of bats, music and the iconic bridge to create a visual image celebrating the festival.
