This collection of photos is another ongoing project of mine that I am calling 'Synthetic Emotion'. I've been shooting these randomly found mannequins and puppets since 2008, with my Canon 7D, Canon G10 and sometimes my iPhone 3Gs. My intent with this photo project is to capture human-like emotion from an otherwise dead/non-living but commonly seen everyday subject matter. I've found that light, angle and atmospheric artifacts all come to play an important role when framing each subject and trying to create a deep expression or mood. I've also found that it helps to have a camera on you at all times, because you never know when you'll run into the next opportunity. I've missed some good ones...
