ellittica

ellittica
Ellittica is the result of four courses at ISIA of Rome in collaboration with INAF, the National Institute of Astrophysics. The aim of the courses was to design an exhibition that could effectively confer the scientific and cultural heritage of the institution, giving prominence to the institute's observatories and museums.

temporal logic
In order to increase the perception of the INAF network, ellittica is designed as a nomadic exhibition that moves through the 12 cities in two years.
To optimize the logistics and organization, they have been identified as "two branches" along which the exhibition moves: one develops from Rome up to Cagliari and the other from Turin to Florence.
Two exhibitions that will travel side by side, evolving according to the interests of the public involved.
timing
The first edition will take place from 2020 to 2022. For both ellittica1 and ellittica2 the duration, reshaping and moving are the same, however, the participation of citizens will make the result of the two exhibitions different,  despite the fact that they both start off from the same initial content.
the logic
Analyzing the first stage of Ellittica we can understand the logic behind the system, identifying the relationships between the individual elements.
The temporary exhibition is located in the area adjacent to the INAF observatory. The satellite pavilion, located at strategic points of the city, becomes another point of contact with the exhibition itself.
The system allows every single observatory point to be given support, reinforcing not only the identity of the INAF network, but also the relationship between the citizens and astrophysics.
remodulation of the arguments
The themes are presented in two different ways: a scientific and a humanistic one. The elaboration of the contents is illustrated in the following scheme.
The topics are monitored during the course of the exhibition, assigned milestones will make it will be possible to analyze the major points of interest of the public. An argument that is less appreciated is improved in the next stage of the exhibition  and will be investigated further on. What then turns out to be of little interest once again by the users will be replaced with a new topic.
identity
the planets
We have designed twelve exoplanets for the first cycle of the exhibit, one for each city, to represent the journey into the galaxy of the National Institute of Astrophysics.
the website
The site of Ellittica maintains the logic of the system by creating two parallel paths. It will be possible to consult the stages of the exhibition, the scheduled events and to monitor the progress of the exhibit live.
exhibit

where
The project is developed in three areas of the city:
INAF Museum: ellittica creates a direct connection between the Observatory of the city in which it located, supporting the individual observatories and their scientific-cultural heritage.
Neighboring area: Elliptical is located in areas adjacent to the Observatory of the 12 cities. Various provisions have been designed to adapt it to the territory itself.
City: a satellite pavilion, a stand-alobe experience that acts as a further point of exchange.
