Facebook event promo for nonprofit for writers

These Facebook posts were to promote an event for California's oldest writing organization, the California Writers Club. The club had limited funds and time to promote the event, so these were put together very quickly in just a few hours. I used the tool SmarterQueue to post them throughout the weeks leading up to the event. To mix things up, I interspersed posts about deadlines for upcoming writing contests and opportunities (not pictured).

One goal of the club is to bring in younger members, so instead of the founding authors they often use to promote their brand (e.g. Jack London in their user profile), I attached animated gifs to the posts.

We timed this event for January, so the images selected went along with the theme of not only writing, but also of New Year's resolutions.

NOTE: Due to the nature of animated gifs, some of the images below are low-res. These samples are to show social media strategy, not graphic design. For a graphic design sample, see the promo poster following this photo grid.

I also created a promo image for the event, which I used for several of the posts. This was branded to match the colors of the website. In addition to promotion on Twitter, Facebook, and their website, the CWC printed it as full-color quarter sheets to share around town.
