The objective of this project was to combine typography with meaning. I had to pick a song and play with the typography in such a way that the meaning of the song would be portrayed through use of the typography. I picked the song ‘Kill em with Kindness’ by Selena Gomez. The song is all about blocking out the haters but doing it gracefully, with kindness. I used a script typeface for the main lyrics of the song, because it shows gracefulness. I intentionally made the verses of the song bleed out of the poster to show all the negative thoughts being pushed away. The lyrics in the center and in caps show moving forward. The colours I chose for everything have specific emotional meanings as well, such as the electric blue background, which shows the power of kindness, and the white font for kindness, which portrays gracefulness.
