About.....
Making art allows me to interpret my world, and create images that make sense to me. I am inspired by my surroundings, however simple, and am drawn to the abstract elements of nature. I tend to view my subjects in terms of shape and color, and do not concentrate so much on the actual object. My goals are to reveal the emotion that a particular subject instilled in me, and to continue to express myself.
Creating the textures and light that I see in my surroundings, is a focus in my work, and more recently I am drawn to encaustic wax for the textures that can be built. I can see the extraordinary in every turn, often simplifying the reality to the aspects to which I respond emotionally, thereby achieving a slightly altered vision.

I have lived in, and painted in, the Rochester NY area for around 30 years. During this time I have investigated different media, from watercolor, to collage, to acrylic, to most recently encaustic wax, always in search of ways to create texture and mood. Mostly self taught, my work has been exhibited in both regional and national shows, and has sold locally and internationally.
