The goal for this project was to redesign the cover of the book Holes by Louis Sachar. I felt that the original book’s design was lacking and was more market toward a very young audience. With this design, I wanted to give it a more modern look and appeal to the teenage demographic between 13 and 18. The elements used also still keep it in a desert theme where much of the book takes place. I also wanted to showcase 2 main elements of the story while still keeping it suspenseful. I even treated the type in the same manner by putting the “O” in the hole and texturing it.
