Every October, Sexual Violence Response raises awareness on the issues of violence in intimate relationships, and it’s impact on us all. SVR also connects with communities across the country dedicated to this effort. For the entire month, the Columbia University community wears the color purple in solidarity, and Alfred Lerner Hall is illuminated in purple to show their commitment to the prevention of relationship violence. Hope, Heal, Inspire. Relationship violence can come to an end. There is hope for change to those impacted. There is opportunity for the community to heal. There are ways to inspire through dialogue, understanding and action.
