Anepalco means bay in Nahuatl.
In our investigation of Aztec codices and symbols we did not find a pictogram indicating bay. But in a sense the Nahuatl language is composed of different words coming together, there for the creation of an icon that could represent Anepalco was the union of an arc referring to "place of" and "water" that is represented by a circle.
Anepalco, is a modern mexican cuisine based in Orange County California. They knew that the image they had before didn't represent how they wanted to be portrayed. Part of the Brief was to enhance the image on the Aztec roots that Anepalco nourish well in their cuisine, an as well not end on a cliché and trend of what an mexican restaurants are now a day in the California Region.
