It's very difficult to be interested in detail in a visual world where images and designs need to be recognized in a flash. Detail tends to be forgotten in the whole structure, but in fact, it's this detail that makes the whole project possible. The difference between "just good-looking design" and "real good design" is determined by this details. My concept is a "Joint" with these details.

Among the joints, I focused on "Hanok(한옥, 韓屋) structure". Hanok structure is a word commonly used to refer to "Gyeol-gu(결구, 結構)".

It is something that consists of parts connected together in an orderedway and the structure of something is the way in which it is made, built, ororganized.

When I was working on a stool project with this concept, I tried to find, simplify, and develop the best form of the Gyeol-gu for making it because I couldn't actually use all and perfectly imitate this. I tried to be careful that it was so simplified that the traditional feeling didn't go away. And as we went through modeling, we worked with the overall proportion and balance of the stool. It was difficult to balance and proportion the entire stool, because if the size of one unit changed a little bit, the size of the other units changed with that unit too. And I worked on the project, trying to find a shape that contained my concerns and my own design, rather than taking the original Hanok columns and making them.
