Nov 2018 Black and Blue

These works were completed in November, as the seasons began to change and it got colder out. I'm thinking less about mood and more about the feel of ink, as impressions are revealed in the mono print process. I haven't had a chance to get back to the Graphics Studio at the Woodstock School of Art this year, but I found I could create that same drama and surprise with the darkest blacks and intense indigos of acrylic paint applied over lighter hues and colors. In each piece, I worked fast and intuitively, letting go of the discomfort of not having a subject. Having said that, I seem to need a reference to guide me.
