After consideration I decided to commit to my main aesthetic of a graphic monochromatic style with accents of striking colour to best portray my concept. Each image has been personally sketched by myself, making every line angle and form individually different from each other, a one of a kind piece. I choice to construct continuous line drawings of the face, as this motif presents the highest vulnerability emoted by humans. The continuous line depicts the never ending cycle of conflicting emotions experienced in many walks of life. The distorted motifs reflect the intolerance of this topic and the silent conversations that drown society.

The common theme of red text is present on every page. Red is a known aggressive colour that generally means the writer is mad or upset, in turn they are ‘seeing red’. This is coupled with face depicting these different emotions, relating to what is written. Plan cards with just text are emotionless, no face attached, meaning that beauty does not mean a source of identity.

I was very happy with this concept as this emotionally provoking zine is what I wanted to be presented. The only issue was that I needed to make the design more complex which would in return make the zine more engaging. So I struggled with layering the concept as it started to become very two-dimensional. I then had a break through idea to enhance my design.
