Creative Direction.
Choice of model, wardrobe and styling, all add up to my overall composition, making them all equally important to make this shoot look effortlessly perfect.
Model – Had to find an old man, which seemed tricky at first to get somebody local, but I had to resort to my getting my grandad to come up for the day to be my old man.
Wardrobe and styling – A cane, old looking coat and a bolero hat.
Pose and strategy – Quite a stern looking pose, hunched up over a cane, against a plain backdrop that goes from black-to a grey/light grey colour.
Composition – sat staring bang in the centre of the camera to give a glaring look.
Technical Considerations.
Lights – 1 flash, 2 soft boxes – attached a silver reflector to help give more light to one side.
Camera – Nikon D3s – set on manual.
Action- Shoot took about 2 hours – including setting up and light testing. I took about 35 pictures so I had enough to play with.
