kotai: concept for a light fixture

kotai is a concept for a standing light fixture inspired by the origami technique.
As the name suggests (in the original language), the project focuses on a solid-like design creating a game of light and shadow through the product’s shape.

Such a geometry can be turned in several ways as each face is identical to the others: so the lamp does in order to be movable and more flexible in its design.
The product contains a LED light bulb integrated with a battery compartment inside: by unlocking the movable face, a spring opening system makes the side to open in case of maintainance. The light can be switched on/off by gently pushing the top of the movable face.
The lamp is expected to be made in polyethylene both for indoor and outdoor use.
