INSIDE 44 Main Hero has diabetes type 1, as do i since age of 13.
It is the first super hero in the world that will have Diabetes type 1 following him on his journey.

Yap now you know that i have diabetes type 1 , and that i have insulin pump connected on me.

Short about project :

For this project i have improved many crafts - such as marvelous designer / rigging / organic modeling of realistic head etc. I even got to play with one camera 3d scan of my face which gave good results. Prepare to see this character in many scenes in the upcoming book thnx to it

I know that manny of you will say its very lame that it has my head - but this is very personal to me since it is about diabetes.

Long story:

So here it is guys, you find out something about me that i dont talk very much about. I was diagnosed with diabetes on 30 August 2000.

It looks that my pancreas was fighting hard, as my health was going down. I was 13 years, with 40kgs and in couple of months i was accepted in hospital with 29kgs with blood sugar of 26mmol. (normal 4-6mmol)

I remember i was running, and i couldnt keep up on soccer game. All of sudden i was getting fatigued easy, urinating, coughing, vision blured but i kept moving.

Next i was in hospital with incurable disease that i will have to carry for rest of my life.

I got insulin pump, that they gave me instead of stabbing myself with needles 10x a day .
We were enemies first, later arch nemesis and now we are friends.

Insulin pump is connected on my body 24/7. Which technically makes me robot :)

To say that this event changed my life would be a lie, it didnt change it flipped my world upside down. From kid that was doing sports 24/7, and living pretty happy life all of a sudden i was on insulin and being stabbed 10x a day in hospital.

I had to grow up pretty fast.

I was looking like Roger the Alien from American Dad - due to loosing all the weight and my head getting big. Even though my looks did change since then, i still like when i am passing next to the mirror to put hands like him and say "Hey Roger"

Everyone was telling me - you can`t do this, you cant do that - doctors judging.

I promised myself i will prove them all wrong and show them i can do extraordinary things.

Well in next years together me and diabetes would make some amazing achievements that mannynormal people dont do.

Why?!

Because i was always underdog, and i had to prove that i am worthy.

People kept rejecting me and telling me i am unworthy just because of label of diabetes - but they were so wrong. A lot of fear / rejection and other stuff happened.

I have failed at one thing, i never had normal life - on the contrary thnx to diabetes i had extraordinary life.

During these 18 years diabetes and me have done some amazing things, while maintaining a1c ~6.3 (there was a month i had 7.8 but had flu for 2 months) We had some bad days.

Why was i quite about it? Well its simple - many of you have met me in person, and you know how high energy i have and that i look pretty "normal"

Well i have diabetes, i have insulin pump connected on me 24/7 i measure my blood sugar 10x a day and calculate many things. Next time you see me, probably you will see at some point pocking my finger for blood or taking insulin - its not anymore a secret.

Keep in mind when i got type 1 diabetes ( insulin dependant)

When i got diabetes 1.5% of goobal population had type 1 and 7% type 2.

Now 12% of world has diabetes type 1, and 32% has diabetes type 2... in only 18 years difference.

Would u ever know that i have diabetes? No.

Do i look like person that has diabetes? No.

As a matter of fact i look like the healthiest person ever - which i am but i do take care of myself

It`s a condition not a disease - you have to be super strong to manage it.

Is it hard? Yes .
Is it possible ? Yes

Can you do it ? Absolutely.

Never used it as excuse, but as a fuel for my fire. When anyone would stop i would keep on going. And i will keep on doing that.

I live life at the fullest.

I won`t bother you to much - cause i have so much to say - and i will keep that for some other time. My life is very movie like from moment i got diabetes, but i am still not ready to share all stories. If you think this is interesting - get ready for more.

I have it all written and packed - ready for some presentation. I promises you it will blow your mind.

As matter of fact whole book is inspired by my life, from 2011-2018 it has been some crazy ride.

Lecture already has name written on paper.

"Real story behind Inside 44 book"

The idea of character with diabetes i had 15 years ago, as matter of fact i drew him with bad skills i had than. I was imagining how cool would it be if there was someone i could compare with.

My heroes during growing up were normal people but also some that normal people would never take. And still i admire a lot of them

Nacho - Real Madrid and Spain national team player diabetes type 1
Nick jonas - Singer with type 1 diabetes
Derek Theler - Diabetes type 1 actor

etc.

As you see, diabetes hits anyone - but doesnt keep you from your dreams! We are singers, athletes, sports people and anything u want to be.

For2 years i kept this as top secret, but now is the day to meet him hero from the book. Inside 44.

His story is based on my real life story in alternative universe. He is the first race car driver with diabetes that crashes on a race. After that he has long recovery and life takes him on a diffrent path - much bigger than he or anyone expected.

He is equiped with t-shirt that gives insulin trough skin, and insulin pump that haw special "circle" technology to give insulin. But also insulin pens on side .

btw he has sidekick that follows him and meassures blood sugar for him - something like i have insulin pump. You will see in the book.

I am sure manny of you think it is lame it has my face - but its my story and i have diabetes - so i know it the best.

And for the last sentence i would like to say to 13 year old Darko

"I know only thing you want now is to be normal like other people, trust me you dont want that.

Thnx to diabetes you are going to open some doors that other people dream of

Never be ashamed of it."

Happy 18th birthday to you diabetes, we are legal now to drink :)

And we have kept us safe without complications.

if we did it so far, i dont belive but know that we will live till 90 years healthy.

Happy international diabetes day, i know there wont be cure soon. But we can all hope!
