These are symmetrical paper designs created with a rectangle of black paper, a knife and adhesive. The sizes range from 3"x5" to 10"x12". Have you seen those paper snowflakes that you create by cutting with scissors? Those were an inspiration to me for these studies. I fold the black paper in half and cut out shapes. And like the snowflakes, I don't know what the final design will be; I only try to create patterns that I think will be interesting. Below are a few of my favorites.
This design I call "Tribal Masks" is reversible and can be viewed 2 different ways depending on how you hold it.
