WORLD WAR TWO CARDS

“The design of playing cards involves a balance between utilitarian constraints and artistic possibilities. The basic purpose of playing cards hasn't changed much in the past 625 years, but the fundamental precepts and principles of design and print have been continuously developing and improving to the present day. Playing card decoration reflects the fashion of the day, and is likely to be guided by prevailing tastes and styles.” (World of Playing Cards, 2012)

Using the above quote, I was expected to create a deck of cards which had a certain theme. World War II is the concept I decided to go a head with

Instead of using normal hearts, diamonds or shapes. I decided to use what the planes from each of those countries looked like during the war. Below you can see that each plane is different. They would publish this in the newspaper so people could spot enemy fighter planes.
