My name is Yaiza Martin (born Spain, 1992) and I am an illustrator and pattern designer.
I am absolutely obsessed with patterns and colours. That is why everywhere I go I take my sketchbook with me. I am always looking for inspiration. Anything can be the spark that lights up a new idea.
Also, experimentation and trying new tools and materials are a very important part of my work. My favourite art supplies are watercolours and gouache.
In addition, there are some artists that have influenced me in one way or another, such as Katsushika Hokusai, William Morris and Jean-Michel Basquiat, but also David Shillinglaw, Ellen Rutt and Kristin Texeira, to name a few.
