The book is to commemorate the legendary king of jazz Hugh Masekela by designing a book that contains a number of interactive devices, some pages of copy and a lot of visual elements by way of photographs and illustrations. Every story book has a beginning, middle and end, and so does life. For the book I have decided to tell the story of his whole life because the end makes no sense without the beginning and his story is one that should be told in detail.
The book has mainly three parts with the first part being “the beginning” the part of the book talks about Hugh Masekela’s early life and experiences. I have decided to do a double spread with a center piece of a few of his images in his early years along with it some text informing the reader about his milestones in those years.
