We are not real – Cities of ghosts

All along the way i was making « Itinérances » I photographed a lot in motion. I photographed much movement. The human movements, crossings, persistence of perception, awareness of other people. People I meet, people I touch, people I almost hit sometimes, whom print my mind and disappear as quickly as the flow in which they are. I often remember these faces just after they are no longer near me, as if they are already in this picture, elsewhere and that photography seems to me like automatic writing, a trace of my personnal ghosts whispering in my ears  "we are not real."

This series belongs to street photography, with the particularity of blur. This blur I claim as part of myself, even if some say it is a photographic error, where I argued for a simple human gesture. There is no anticipation of the moment as it is in the traditional street photography, no search of the composition. It’s like automatic writing, I practiced long time ago, it is an almost shamanic moment when I know that the picture will not be in focus and that my ghost towns populated again with pictures of moments that no longer exists .. . Where I am no longer myself so real.
