This design for a map of the Balearic Islands, an archipelago in the western Mediterranean Sea belonging to Spain, is a digitally rendered design, inspired by antique map prints.
It presents the archipelago's four main islands of Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera and their principle cities and towns. Also shown are the many surrounding minor islands and islets including Cabrera, Dragonera and S'Espalamdor, and the principle roads, railways and ferry routes to mainland Spain. The shaded relief of the mountain ranges, colour scheme, vignetted shading of the seas and use of type throughout are all inspired by examples of antique maps. It The design is finished with a decorative title cartouche, a simple, elegant border and scale bar.

The typeface used throughout is Modern No. 20 (regular, bold and italic)
Note on language: All names on the map are written in the Balearic language, a variant of Catalan.
