Vorbasse
Some time ago I went back to my old hometown Vorbasse in Jutland/Denmark. I had decided to revisit some of the old locations that made out a big part of my childhood. And of course, the weather was terrible. However I decided to carry it through, so I went 23 kilometres in the pouring rain.
After I got back and looked at the images I shot, I couldn’t find anything interesting. But after some ripening of the project, the pictures grew on me, and suddenly I recognised the landscape of my childhood.
Memories are preferred past, and every time you try to recall old memories, you retell it a little and thereby reshape it to fit into your current situation. That means that one cannot rely on memories, not as a truth witness at least. However, our whole identity depends on them. Good thing to remember, that you can actually reshape your past.
If you dare let go of your memories…..
