EMERALD
Emerald is a research project established by John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, aiming to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of a community-based combination HIV prevention package. This research is targeting the female sexual worker community in Baltimore, MD, who experience a unique set of vulnerabilities associated with structural factors such stigma, and unsafe work environments. These factors inhibit protective sexual behaviors and seeking of HIV testing, care, and treatment.

Through the visual identity design of this research project, the design team wanted to deliver the voice of the JHBSPH study team, about empowerment, support, health, safety and feminism. We designed a feminine typeface for "emerald" with the diverse emerald green, which is welcoming and inviting. With this visual system, we hope the project could reach out more FSWs and help them connected to effective care and enough treatment they need.
