独生子女档案 Documents of One-Child Policy

《独生子女档案》是我的2018本科毕业设计作品。计划生育作为中国的基本国策，始终与中国人的生活息息相关。而1978-2014年推行的“独生子女政策”作为计划生育在这一历史时期内的极端表现形式，深刻的改变了中国的家庭结构、经济结构、社会结构，影响了中国人的生育观念、家庭观念、儿童教育观念、性别意识等等方面。

我作为出生在1996年的独生子女，面对2014年“全面二胎”政策推行带来的生育制度的改变，开始重新反思“独生子女”这一身份对我的影响。这一作品收集了大量的原始历史资料，包括学术研究、新闻报道、政府文件、宣传手册、科普手册等等。我将这些材料以原始的状态陈列于此，提供一种对“独生子女”这一身份的剥离。我和我的观众在这个由历史信息构成的场域中可以获得“旁观者”的视角，从而对这一政策产生反思。

在作品的形式上，我将这部“档案”展开，形成了一个由信息碎片构成的丛林。我没有在作品中设置唯一的结论，并邀请观众随意的触摸和翻阅所有的展品，从中得到自己想要获得的信息。这种由于对表述者权力的让渡所带来的不同于以往的观看历史的方式可以让观众对固有的历史定论进行反思，进而产生自己的历史观点。

“The Documents of One-Child Policy” is my thesis project for undergraduate in 2018. As a basic national policy, Family Planninghas become an important part of Chinese people’s life. As for the extreme of family planning during 1978-2014, “One-Child Policy” changed the structure of family, economy and society in mainland China and impacted the concept of reproduction, family, children, gender, etc.

The implemented of “Two-Children Policy”in 2014 evoked the reflection for my identity of an only child born in 1996, which also inspired this work. “The Documents of One-Child Policy”based on a wide range of collection, including the academic researches, news reports, government files, brochures, science manuals, diaries, surgery recordings, certificates etc. The display of the original materials offered a “stripping” of the identity and a position of spectator to the audience and myself, which lead to the reflection of this period of history.

In terms of the form of the work, I “opened”this document in order to constituted a “forest”of information and a “tower”of history. There was not any tracks or answers prepared for the audience. They were invited to touch, read, listen, even climb up for the further history and allowed to have their own observation. The changing of the way of watching and the involving of sensing framed a context of the history without conclusion, which was rare for the Chinese audience.
