With my soundscape, I am exploring the use of sound to create a story of a lonely someone running through the bush to escape the fire, even with the fire and wind it still has this silence as you only hear the footsteps and no panic. Determination to get through the bush and into safety. The second part of the soundscape is the sound of calmness after the bushfire, 9 years later. Tourism has risen more and more in the last 9 years and the economy isn’t the same but is rising as well. The difference of regrowth and community has come a long way since Black Saturday but will always have that memory of what happened and I have tried to incorporate that in this soundscape.
