Propuesta para el concurso del cartel de las fiestas de la vendimia y de San Mateo 2017 de Logroño, en España.

La idea fundamental es la ciudad de Logroño como destino, llegada o lugar de paso reconocible por su perfil recortado contra el cielo desde el otro lado del río Ebro, por sus puentes y por los fielatos que han constituído su puerta de entrada durante siglos.

Proposal for the public contest to design the local holidays poster about the annual vintage of 2017 in Logroño, Spain.

The key idea is the city of Logroño as a destination, arrival or stop-by place, recognizable for its skyline from the other side of the river Ebro, for its bridges and for the entrance posts that had represented its access point for centuries.

Para representar esa idea de Logroño como cruce de caminos aparecen escogidos los perfiles de diferentes construcciones de la ciudad. El nexo común entre ellos es el camino que llega a la ciudad, el camino que también es el de Santiago y que ha sido fundamental en el desarrollo de la ciudad.

To represent that idea of Logroño as a crossroads, the skylines of characteristic buildings are chosen to appear on the poster. The link between them is the road that arrives in the city, the way that is also the Way of Saint James and that has been fundamental in the development of the town.

Estos días son para celebrar la vendimia, la recogida de las uvas que luego se convertirán en vino. Por eso estas fiestas giran alrededor de él, así como la paleta cromática de este póster. Aparecen varios tonos diferentes para representar los distintos elementos y a la vez crear cierta sensación de profundidad y de superposición.

These days are for celebrating the vintage, the annual harvest of grapes that will be transformed into wine. That is the reason why the wine is the centre of the holidays, as well as it is the centre of the chromatic palette of this poster. Different shades appear to represent the distinct elements and to create at the same time certain sense of depth and superposition.
