Kanela was a concept Gin Bar in Manila. The focus was on mixing high quality gin while highlighting locally sourced organic ingredients. Their flavors reflect the sweetness of the fruits in the Philippines. As the nightlife in the Philippines continues to flourish, there was a definite need to stand-out from the growing crowd of bars.

I wanted to evoke some old maritime feel to the branding while at the same time incorporated a contemporary simplicity to the identity.

I wanted to use symbols from Filipino culture to create the logo. On top is the constituent parts of the Filipino flag. In the middle is a Filipino war shield. The bottom is a "sarangola" a traditional Filipino kite.
