This was a in class graphic design project. Designing a catalog for an contemporary artist, and here is a catalog of renowned Scottish painter Peter Doig.
Many of Doig's artworks comes from photographic sources of his own such as postcards, film stills, as well as images from magazines and newspapers. But he made no attempt to replicate the image, instead uses them to paint abstract landscapes representing his individual and collective memories of places and mirrors fantasy images from Doig's experience.
Doig's painting is unique that it evokes traditional romantic landscapes and drew attention to the act of applying paint on the canvas, combining abstract elements with ordinary subject matters and captures timeless moments of tranquility. Here the catalog divide into sections of three themes in his paintings: Urban, Rural, and Wooded each with its own description in a balance between paintings and text.
