Every once a while the Willem de Kooning Academy has a projectweek. This is a week where you can subscribe for all sorts of projects which includes students from every department.
The last projectweek I worked in the studio. And my concept was toportrait eccentric young students, who clearly had their own style andrepresented something. But not on a very common way.. I wanted to seeif I would be able to portrait a student without all the bling blingand big talk.. a little uncomfortable and shy..
I found some great volunteers, put them in front of my camera anddidn't say a word.. I just waited until a little move or a facialexpression and tried to capture the uncomfortableness..
