Digital paint, human heart and mind

The painting was inspired by seeing footage of the devastating wildfires in California in 2018, which echoed those of 2017. The nation continues to burn. The painting reflects the apocalyptic scale of what is happening as well as the power and courage at the heart of our own refusal to look away. Terror, grief, but resolve. The viewer chooses to be awake and to bear witness.
