iconostasis text infographics / experimental Cyrillic typography
There are many rules and church canons which were on basement of iconostasis art and culture. Years ago everything was important from symbols in the hand of the saints to the place of the saints images in iconostasis.
Today less people know the rules of reading iconostasis. And this work is an interpretation of old guide in a new text media. The images is replaced to typography blocks which are save the right iconostasis composition. In a type basis is a narrowed modern grotesque which is modified in old Cyrillic calligraphy (Russian Vyaz) traditions.
Iconostasis is a wall of icons and religious paintings in Eastern Orthodox Church.
Russian Vyaz (Cyrillic calligraphy) is a type of Cyrillic ornate lettering.
