“La Première” First Class seat A380
Mission
With the arrival of the seventh and eighth Airbus 380 in its long-haul fleet, Air France wanted to restyle its first-class seats manufactured by Contour (taken over by Zodiac Aerospace), integrating constraints making it possible to avoid the need for new certifications.
Air France commissioned Yellow Window to develop the initial seat design with the intention of increasing passengers’ perception of quality and privacy.

Yellow Window supported Air France at each stage of the industrial development process as defined in the aeronautical sector:
ITCM (Initial Technical Co-ordination Meeting), PDR (Preliminary Design Review), CDR (Critical Design Review) and FAI (First Article Inspection).
2009  - 2012
Result
Yellow Window adopted a stylistic approach inspired by the symbol of the “opening flower”, in accordance with the underlying feminine character of the Air France brand, translated into soft shapes and refined lines, creating an intimate universe of peace, and of refined luxury.

The new seats offer a feeling of enhanced protection, like an extremely comfortable cocoon, preserving privacy while creating a feeling of space. In particular, privacy has been ensured with a modular screen and higher side partitions.

Variations on warm greys and light colours, high-quality leather, and the attention paid to every detail also help create a calm, elegant environment.
