I was commissioned to make a mock comic book cover for a the BLERD-ISH podcast. Here's my process.

I began with a loose sketch. This one was done digitally for some reason. I'm thinking I felt it was more convenient. I transferred a full size copy of the sketch onto Bristol Board using a lightbox in pencil. The background was also drawn digitally and transferred after I drew the figures in pencil. I did that because it was easier to work out what I wanted the building to look like without wasting a lot of paper sketching it out.

Here I inked the pencil drawing with brush and pen and finally colored in Photoshop. I also created the logo (see above) in Illustrator to get it looking like the logo from the old Marvel Secret Wars comics. The illustrations in the character box was done by someone else.
