The Egyptian local paper market is an unexplored territory. This project aims to create a tangible, easily accessible medium/ window, which provides the field of graphic design with information, helping to create more and better creative options/possibilities for printable materials.
The main drive for this project was the personal need. As a part of the graphic design field, it is expected to explore different materials in order to find the most suitable one for the aimed project, choosing the right paper was a crucial concept introduced to all graphic design students, in order to attain the best possible outcome, but the story just ends there, as no tools are available to help with navigating the options, no credible source about the market. These
circumstances resulted in graphic designers who have never been to the local paper market, missing out all the options there, and being under the mercy of materials available in the regular station, which is a poor choice for a graphic designer.
The sample book consists of 4 books, where the first one is a collage book that allows you to explore different paper types collected from the paper market after they are used in print- ing, these printed elements are then used to form a collage enhancing the idea of creating interesting visuals with the use of different types
of paper.
And you get to interact with every collage and to know the paper type used in it
The other 3 books are divided according to the paper categorization into coated, uncoated and textured paper. Each book of these 3 books contains the name of the paper, grams and tips printed on a transparent paper that precedes the paper sample itself, then a printed image and the CMYK and RGB scale printed on the paper itself in order to allow the comparisons between the printed quality of each paper type and how would colors look on this specific type.
