Version two - the main issue with this one is that there is a loss of legibility.
As menstruation is still a topic that not many are willing to talk about casually (though much more than ever before), I hope to shed light of this matter by making an in-your-face found type work. Instead of using the euphemistic blue liquid often found in menstrual product commercials to represent menses, I used red because it's pretty obvious that we all bleed red down there not blue. 

This is constructed using sanitary napkin/menstrual pads and attaching them using the adhesive behind the pads themselves. The bloody red water that the pads absorbed are remnants of the red acrylic paint that I used to mix with the bath water.  Originally, I intended to have the pads float on the bloody water but that didn't go out so well. Instead, what you see here is the aftermath of absorbing all these bloods (and showcasing how absorbent a menstrual pad is). 

Once I look back, it ought to be much bloodier. Oh well, I do have plans on revisiting this project though! Be sure to keep an eye out!
