Abelina / Typeface Design Project by Yani Arabena
El proyecto nace a partir de la fuerte idea de la autora de fusionar la idea un proyecto caligráfico en el mundo de la tipografía.
Dicha motivación da lugar a «Abelina», una tipografía que puede ser utilizada a modo display para títulos en donde parte de la premisa central es emular ciertas características de la escritura manual.
Conceptos como espontaneidad, velocidad y fluidez, vinculados con la utilización de ciertas herramientas caligráficas – en este caso el pincel de punta o «pointed brush» – dieron lugar a un resultado tipográfico basado en la estructura a modo de trama que ofrece el modelo de la caligrafía cancilleresca/ itálica.

Abelina / Typeface Design Project by Yani Arabena
The project was born from the author's strong idea of merging a calligraphic project with the world of typography.
This gave birth to «Abelina», a typeface that can be used as display for titles where part of the central premise is to emulate certain features of handwriting.
Concepts like spontaneity, speed and fluidity, associated with the use of certain calligraphic tools –in this case the pointed brush– led to a typographic result based on the pattern-like structure that provides the chancery and italic calligraphic model.
